Discussion Point

Discussion helps us to learn more and internalize what we read. Here is one idea that you can discuss as a Princess Circle:

Old-fashioned values: the whole book

There is a lot to learn and think about in this book when it comes to principles, values, and refinement. Things like respecting your elders, being honest and open with your parents[or children], serving each other, being polite, being modest in dress, language and actions; using manners, working hard, enduring through hard times and looking on the bright side, being happy, and so much more.

As you read, discuss the principles, value and refinement that you see, especially if it is unfamiliar to you. Write down things that you can improve on. Discuss the differences between Polly’s way of life, and Fanny’s, and how it impacted them and others.
