January 2010 Liber Tea Luncheon Ideas
Recommended Book:
![]()
For those who are looking for a book to read as mothers and daughters for your Princess Circle, this month we recommend: The Wizard of Oz - By Lyman Frank Baum
This is a fun book for all ages and is full of imagination and lessons. We hope that as you read this classic that it will make you think and inspire you to discover, develop and use your God given talents for good.
Activity:
This is an activity inspired by the book The Wizard of Oz that you do as a Princess Circle.
Self/ talent discovery:
This month we are focusing on our talents; try this exercise to discovery your talents: First, make a list of what you think your talents are. They can be strengths, abilities, skills, etc. Maybe you are really good at making people smile, or maybe you are a great listener. These are talents too and should be listed. Second, have two to three other people that you trust and that know you well list the talents that they see in you (parents are a good person to ask). Third, compare the two lists and see if other people recognized talents in you that you did not recognize and list. Think about these and see if you agree that you have those talents. And finally, make a goal to either strength one of your talents, or to develop a new one.
If you are doing this as a princess academy circle group we suggest that you just start the mothers and daughters on this exercise by explaining it at your gathering and by doing step one and then letting them finish it on there own. You could also do a follow up in one of you next gatherings where mothers and daughters can present their talents that they have been working on.
Principles and Virtues:
Principles and virtues are essential to our development as Princesses who are striving to become Queens. Here are a few principles/ virtues found in The Wizard of Oz. Look for these and more:
- Love
- Family
- Courage
- Hospitality
- Thoughtfulness

Well Said:
“What We Fear the Most
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate,
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure,
It is our light not darkness that most frightens us,
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinkingso that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear;
Our presence automatically liberates others.”
~by Marriane Williamson
Woman of Virtue:
This month's Woman of Virtue is the Western Artistm, Minerva Teichert.

Minerva Teichert was the wife of a Wyoming rancher and mother of five children. She raised her children and saw toher farm duties, but also found time to paint oil paintings in her kitchen and living room. She produced over 1000 paintings.
