June 2009 Heart to Heart- Helping Cater Big Sister's Wedding

Each month we will share a window into a Hope Chest Journey from one of our registered familes. Moms can share experiences from their Hope Chest Journey that they are taking with daughter(s).  We encourage moms to include at least a picture. If your spotlight is posted you will recieve a free gift as our thankyou for being willing to share your journey with others.

I will share an experience from my Hope Chest Journey that I am taking with my youngest child, Mary.  Mary's older sister, Julia, got married in March. Julia wanted an old-fashioned wedding, catered by family and friends.  Mary watched as I created  my Black-Eyed Susan Button Pies for the wedding reception.  Once she was sure she could help, she asked to help making the button pies. She assisted in making a few hundred button pie shells. She will always have this memory of assisting with the preparations for her big sister's wedding reception. This is the part of her Hope Chest Journey she chose to share at her Evening of Eloquence this month.  Below is a picture of our family's display.  The Black-eyed Susan Button pies are on the plates.  Also, in the picture you will see a quilt I pieced when taking a quilting class with Julia, and my computer to show the work I did with my two oldest daughters for creating this organization and website.
