September 2009 Circle to Circle: Building Community

I know that some of you are looking for local Princess Circles.  The smallest Circle is that of the home.  Some moms are meeting with their families. All it takes is a mom and her daughter, and really, that is where it begins!

Some have invited extended famly to join them. Having grown up in Hawaii, thousands of miles away from Aunts, cousins, and grandma.  I feel it would be a joy for adult sisters to meet, and bring their daughters and invite their mother.  That is just what one lady told me she had done.

There are moms out their that have built a group of friends and their daughters.  A dear and sweet society! There have been mothers who have advertised to e-groups they are part of.  Some groups are built around the age of one daughter.  Other groups are built more broadly, because there are many sisters in a family.  A circle need to be huge.

Many moms struggle to manage a home, because they were never taught how to manage a home. They do not start a group because they are fearful that others may judge, or that the task of being hostess may be overwhelming.  This need not be the case. Hopefully, the community that is being built for this site, will be a blessing and help us all manage our lives better.  Mothers can divide the work and simplify the effort that goes into monthly meetings by having potluck luncheons and rotating the responsibility of leading the Circle each month.

I encourage you to not wait to find a group to join.  Just begin. Then invite a friend or two.  This will be a lot easier than you might expect. If you would like me to come and give a presentation in your area, on The Hope Chest Journey: A Call to Beauty and Grace, please contact me through the contact us area of the website.

If you have a Circle you ar hostessing, or that you participate in, and would like to share here in "Circle to Circle" about things going on in your group, please contact us.
