Sowing Seeds of Greatness: Musician- Mozart
Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart was his birth name. He is known to the world as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born 27 January 1756 AD, in Salzburg, Austria. His work was of the Austrian Classical Period. He was the second child of seven children born to Leopold and Anna Maria Pertl Mozart, only the first two survived infancy. His father Leopold, son of a book binder, was a composer, violinist, and music teacher. Leopold home educated his children in academics, languages, and music. Both Wolfgang and his older sister were gifted musicians. They had both nature and nurture on their side. Their father was a music teacher and instructed musicians in his home. One might say that Leopold Mozart's children ate, drank, and slept music. As Wolfgang and his sister grew and developed their musical abilities early in their childhood, they toured Europe with their father, giving concerts. A number of Mozart's works can be listened to online free.
